This remarkable illustration encapsulates an entire approach maneuver cycle around the aircraft carrier in a single image—a feat that would normally require multiple cinematic shots to achieve with such efficiency. The intricate dance of aircraft around this maritime behemoth is executed with effortless grace and delicacy.
Here again, precision and technical mastery seem entirely natural, so fluid and supple is the drawing. Hubinon often spoke of the absolute necessity of “acquiring all the required reference material” and “having multiple views of the aircraft models” on hand, in order to “accurately reproduce the instrument panel, the cockpit interior, and sometimes even the engine itself.” He also made a point of achieving meticulous accuracy regarding costumes and uniforms, ensuring that “braid and insignia were positioned exactly where they belonged.”
